Universal joints are commonly used in tensile loading applications to aid in maintaining axial load alignment.  Universal joints of any end attachment configurations and load capacity can be designed and fabricated.  Just a few examples are presented here.

The universal joints are typically fabricated of stainless steel, with hardened 440C stainless steel wrist pins.
