Specimen Fabrication Aids
Bonding tabs onto test specimens reliably can be a challenge. Each strip of tabbing material is coated with an adhesive which causes it to slide around readily. Tabbing fixtures are designed to increase accuracy and efficiency in the tabbing process.
To characterize the mechanical properties of new polymer matrix material for use in a composite material system, thermoset polymer specimens can often be cast to finish dimensions in open molds.
